City of Gulf Shores to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss a Draft Zoning Text Amendment to Articles 11-3 and 11-21 of the Zoning Ordinance.

The City of Gulf Shores will host a public information meeting on July 19 to discuss proposed revisions to the Specific Use Regulations for Townhouse and Multiple-family Dwelling Uses. The Specific Use Regulations specify supplemental standards for certain permitted land uses, above and beyond base zoning district requirements.

The City Council passed a resolution on February 28 that paused the acceptance of applications for site plan review of Townhouse and Multiple-family Dwelling projects proposed to be located within the City of Gulf Shores. The resolution directed staff to draft updated Specific Use Regulations for Townhouse and Multiple-family Dwelling Uses. The intent of the updated regulations is to address the impacts of entitled multiple-family developments on city infrastructure and to implement the goals of the City’s Land Use Plan.

The meeting will occur on Tuesday, July 19, at 6 p.m. in the Gulf Shores Activity Center at 260 Clubhouse Drive. During the meeting, attendees can ask questions and provide feedback on the proposed changes to City staff members.
