The Foley Public Library will host two special events during the last week of July. Both will take place in the upstairs meeting room of the library and both require reservations to attend.
On Tuesday, July 26 @ 2 pm, join us for a presentation on the Swift-Coles Home: Tidewater Mansion with Library Director, John A. Jackson. Jackson will focus on a brief history of the home, the Swift family as the original owners of the home and Nick Coles who purchased the home and restored it in the 1970s. He will also describe some of the activities that Baldwin County undertook to restore the home for the second time as well as some of the interesting personal ghost stories from his time managing the home. The circa 1888 home is now owned and operated by the Baldwin County Historical Development Commission and is open for tours, events, and weddings.
On Wednesday, July 27 @ 10 am, Children’s author and illustrator, Andi Scurto will join us for a family friendly Coffee, Cocoa & Donuts With an Author. Scurto will share her recent publication, The Accidental Adventure of Mattie the Giraffe. She will discuss her work process as well as hosting a Q&A session for those in attendance. Free coffee, cocoa & donuts will be served.
Attendees can RSVP online at www.foleylibrary.org for these programs or call 251-943-1031 for more information. Please check out the library’s Facebook page or Instagram account, too.
