Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department

Public Assembly Permit Application – Polar Bear Dip 2023 – Gulf Shores Kiwanis Club

Public Assembly Permit Application – 2023 Waterway Village Zydeco & Crawfish Festival

Public Assembly Permit Application – COGS Zydeco Crawfish Festival 5K & Fun Run

Resolution – Define and update Policies & Rates for Controlled Beach Parking, Permit Fees & Annual Hurricane Re-Entry Decals

Ordinance – Amend Code – Chapter 21 Traffic – It has been determined that increased usage and demand on public parking in the near vicinity of the City’s public Gulf front beaches requires further regulation of parking in such areas as follows:Amend conflicting City of Gulf Shores Hurricane  Re-entry Decal Ordinances and Resolutions  Amend Resolution defining the Controlled Beach Parking HoursAmend Resolution to expand the Controlled Beach Parking Area Amend Resolution to modify Controlled Beach Parking Fees

Planning & Community Development 

  • ZA22-000065 Gulf Shores Landfill Conditional Use Permit (CUP). The applicant seeks CUP approval for a Landfill use and implementation of a Phased Closure Plan for the 62-acre Gulf Shores Landfill.  Approval of the Conditional Use Permit for the Gulf Shores Landfill Closure Plan with the 12 conditions is recommended.

Airport Authority

Resolution – Ratify Lease – Airport Authority & Gulf Shores Power Sports, LLC. Ratify and confirm Lease Agreement between the Authority and Gulf Shores Power Sports, LLC. A Letter of Intent from Gulf Shores Power Sports, LLC, (Kitchens Brothers) has been received by the Airport Authority for a land lease for the construction of a 115 x 100 (11,500 sf) aircraft storage hangar unit in the southwest aircraft storage complex.

Resolution – Ratify Lease – Airport Authority & Megalop Holdings, LLC. Ratify and confirm Lease Agreement between the Authority and Megalop Holdings, LLC. The Airport Authority has received a Letter of Intent from Megalop Holdings, LLC, (Donnie Elmore) for a land lease for the construction of a 60 x 80 (4,400 sf) aircraft storage hangar unit in the southwest aircraft storage complex.

City Clerk 

Resolution – Rescheduled 2023 Council Work Session & Council Meetings. Upon review of the 2023 Municipal Holiday Schedule, several Council Meetings and Council Work Sessions will be impacted by the City holiday office closures.  Council will determine and schedule an alternate date for these meetings.

Resolution – Board Appointment – Beautification Board – John Eslick to replace Marlene Johnt

Resolution – Authorize Annual Renewal of State Lobbyist Contract – Christie Strategy Group

Resolution – Authorize Annual Renewal of Federal Lobbyist Contract – Van Scoyoc Associates, Inc.Building DepartmentResolution – Authorize Agreement – COGS & Baldwin County Revenue Commission. Allow Baldwin County Revenue Department access to the City’s Citizenserve software system to collect building permitting data for appraisal and tax purposes.

Environmental/Grants Coordinator

  • Resolution – Authorize Professional Services Contract – Mako Forestry – Bon Secour / Oyster Bay Wetland Project - Proposal from Mako Forestry Corporation for site preparation work on the City’s NFWF-funded wetland project properties.  This work shall include site preparation and land clearing, including the establishment of firebreaks, buffers, mulching, and mowing, as described in the Fire Management Plan for the nine burn units of the Oyster Bay Nature Preserve and the two burn units of the Wenzel Wetland Preserve.  The total cost for this unit-bid contract is not to exceed $480,000 and will be 100% reimbursed through the NFWF Grant.
Revenue Department

  • Ordinance – Authorize Taxi Franchise Renewals for 2023. Renewal of Franchise for licensed taxi companies that have satisfied the operating requirements, including providing proof of insurance, a list of vehicles, a list of their permitted drivers, and vehicle inspections prior to being issued 2023 decals to operate.
