Were 11th-grade Baldwin County School District students in 2023-24 school year ready for college?

PSAT scores in Baldwin County School District showed there were fewer 11th-grade students ready for college in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Alabama Department of Education.

Amongst all 11th-grade students in Baldwin County School District, 16.7% were considered ready to graduate, compared to 27.3% the year before.

Of the three grades assessed for college and career readiness, 12th-grade students stood out with the best performance in the district, with 87.5% reaching the readiness benchmark.

Throughout the district, Elberta High School had the best performance, with an average college readiness of 93.6%. Meanwhile, Foley High School was at the bottom of the list, with 70.6% considered ready for college.

There were a total of 2,295 students enrolled in Baldwin County School District 11th-grade.

In a recent WalletHub study, Alabama ranked as the eighth worst in the nation for education, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, safety and instructor credentials.
